Commissioned to Design the space for the third edition of Stars du Nord held in Scandinavia's gastro capital Copenhagen. The wildwood restaurant MATERIA came to one of the world's longest-existing free societies: Christiania. One of the collectives in the region was transformed into the a progressive Michelin restaurant – as the northern countries’ most prominent star chefs joint forces in the wild.

Freetown Christiania is a self-governing, intentional community in Copenhagen, founded in September 1971 when a group of squatters occupied an abandoned military base. Inspired by this radical act of collective occupation and by the iconic photograph that captured its spirit, we designed the table and spatial layout as a reflection of Christiania’s ethos of community, freedom and shared space.

Space was conceived with only local and repurposed materials, at Zero waste.
